Friday Introductions Rising Tide Society

Rising Tide Society – Friday Introductions

Hi Everyone! My name is Erica Sofet and I am the face behind Erica Sofet Photography! Ive been apart of the amazing Rising Tide Society for several months now and I am firm a believer in the motto behind The Rising Tide Society, “Community over Competition!” I am so grateful for all the amazing and wonderful business owners I’ve come to know, and now have become some of my closet’s friends today.

Our San Antonio Tuesdays Together, is seriously so stinking amazing! We share our ambitions, our weight of the business, our struggles, I mean we keep it real! As a business owner, running your own business can be very lonely! I know you’re wondering how, but there really is just so much that goes on behind the scenes when we are not out shooting. We play photographers, accountants, bookkeeper’s, editor’s, social media “Nuts” lol, marketing, answering emails, prepping you and planning for the most amazing sessions, I mean this list can go on for days! So the next time you see your favorite photographer, don’t forget to give them the biggest hug and tell them thank you, they will GREATLY appreciate it! Our Tuesday’s Together, is literally that one meeting a month that I get so excited for and it goes straight into my planner as booked! If you are in the San Antonio area and looking to connect and make some amazing friends, I highly encourage you to join our Tuesdays Together Meet up on Facebook for the Rising Tide Society, you will not regret it, I promise….

Rising Tide Society Tuesday Together

Here is 10 fun facts about me that you did not know:

1. Stationary and Planners- I have several planners… (Erin Condren, Day Designer by Whitney English, and My Kate Spade zipper personal size planner) I do use my phone to hold the appt but nothing can take away from a good ole pen and paper! I know, its seriously an obsession. I even have a little carrying tote that carries my favorite pens, and washi tape, but hey a girl can never have too much to accessorize her planner right?

2. I am terrified of flying!  I usually start with a shot and or a mimosa, to ease the anxiety! So here’s a little back story, I once flew back from Maryland, and on that flight we had to go thru a really BAD storm. I have flown into NY thru several blizzards, but nothing compared to this particular flight! Our flight captain told us it was going to be a bumpy ride and as the plane climbed altitude, the plane just wasn’t able to rise out of the storm quickly enough, causing us to be directly in the middle of this storm. Between the screams, lights going on and off, luggages coming out, and for what seemed like forever nose diving in the dark (which was maybe a minute at most), I cried, not like teary eyed, but cried! I could not wait to get off that plane, and as we finally came out of the storm the pilot told us we where out and that this was a once in a lifetime experience, national geographic, of what we were seeing out of our windows. I mean he was right, but it was so hard to see out of my puffy eyes… It took me about a year to get on a plane again, but I do admit I still dislike flying…that was a rough one!

3. I love my pointy flats. I have maybe 10 pairs, in black, navy blue, nude, even a rose red…They go perfect with my business casual look, and can be dressed down with a pair of my favorite denim capris.

4. Design and decor…This is a big one. You know that show, Fixer Upper, on HGTV with Chip and Joanna? Yeah, thats pretty much my 2nd favorite thing to do EVER. If i wasn’t a photographer I would definitely be a Joanna, renovating and styling homes! For now, I enjoy working on our contemporary/farmhouse styling with our home. My big dream is to build a white house on several acres with large windows and mint shutters, a wrap around porch with a swing facing sunsets…and watching our boys play in the yard. I need to convince my city loving husband to move though, but it’s a work in progress!

5. Im an introvert. I’m a very easy going and fun loving spirit. I will almost always pick being at home with my family vs. being out on the town. I enjoy my quite time, from gathering my thoughts from the day, working on my planner and planning out my dreams and my aspirations to just enjoying my quite time. When I am making a very important decision, I like to take my time, I will not spur of the moment just make a purchase or fly at the seat of my chair. My mind thrives on making informed decisions, on picking the best possible solution, which is also why I struggle going to bed, my mind never stops thinking!

6. Im a terrible dancer…That pretty much sums it up.

7. I enjoy studying, researching, and learning. I feel like you can never know too much in life. I will be the mom that researches on vacation what to look out for and how to be safe, like lets say a family beach location, especially if we are visiting a new place. For instance did you know a Man of War Jelly fish isn’t actually a jelly fish its a colony of micro organisms and you wouldn’t treat that sting the same way as lets say a box jelly fish? Ask me why I know this lol…

8. The colors Mint, Gold, Pink are my favorite.

9. I am not a morning person. I have everything packed and ready to go the night before so I never forget anything.

10. Im a very compassionate person. We are all imperfect, and by no means am I perfect but I learn from my mistakes and everyone deserves to be loved, Jesus saved his life for me, and I am forever grateful for the blessings in my life.

xoxo,
